China’s campaign to Sinicize religion has increased pressure on Christian churches through cross removals, meeting restrictions, political education, and tighter control over religious life.

Summary

On January 18th, 2018, the United States reput China to the list of Countries of Particular Concern, according to International Religious Freedom Act of 1998. The governments of those countries on the list have engaged in or tolerated systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom. It’s a very accurate move, at least to China.
