Workers went to a construction site in Henan to demand unpaid wages on October 14, according to a post by the unofficial X account Li Laoshi Is Not Your Teacher. The account linked the site to China Construction Seventh Engineering Bureau, but did not identify the city, project or workers’ employer.
The post said several workers went to the site to seek payment. It described a video as showing workers lying on the ground outside the entrance to an office building in protest.
The account’s description has not been independently corroborated here, and the video has not been viewed or authenticated for this report. The available material does not establish the number of workers involved, the amount allegedly owed, how long payment had been delayed or which entity was responsible for paying them.
No worker testimony or company response is available in the material for this report. The outcome of the reported protest, including whether any wages were subsequently paid, is unknown.
A different project involving the same construction company was the subject of an October 16 article republished by China.com. That article said Xiangyang’s human resources and social security bureau had named China Construction Seventh Engineering Bureau in a September 30 notice of serious labor-law violations.
According to the republished account of the notice, the Gengdu Xiaozhen project in Hubei owed 118 migrant workers 3.2015 million yuan in wages. The article said the bureau received a complaint on March 25, issued an order to correct the violation on May 13 and, after the deadline passed without correction, issued an administrative handling decision on August 6.
Those details come from the republished article, not a direct examination of the official notice. They concern the Hubei project alone: no connection to the workers or project in the Henan post has been established. The Hubei figures do not establish the scale of the alleged Henan wage dispute, and the available material does not show whether the Hubei wages have since been paid.
