Fishkeepers in China have reported aquarium smart power strips suddenly losing power, according to the unofficial social media account Li Laoshi Is Not Your Teacher. Its public Telegram channel described complaints about unusable devices, including an allegation that fish had died.
The account also relayed a store customer-service explanation blaming a backend hacker attack. That explanation is not an established technical cause, and the complaints have not been independently verified.
According to the account’s description of chat screenshots, one user said their fish had all died. Another said a power strip had lost power completely and that they had been told to send it back for repair. The available account does not establish whether a device failure caused the reported fish deaths.
A different user reportedly said power returned after they pressed the controller’s buttons one by one. That account differs from the reports of devices remaining unusable; it does not show that the same action would restore every affected device or establish a tested repair procedure.
Li Laoshi Is Not Your Teacher said customer service for an aquarium-products store identified as 沃尔达水族企业店 attributed the problem to a hacker attack on the backend. This is the account’s retelling of a customer-service message in screenshots, not a formal company announcement or a finding supported by technical records.
The account also described the brand’s aquarium smart power strips as offering features such as phone-based remote control, timed switching and water-temperature control. It did not identify which models were involved in the complaints.
The report described the problems as recent but supplied no precise incident date, location or confirmed number of affected users. Without original customer posts, the chat images or technical evidence, neither the extent of the failures nor the alleged attack can be established.
